Miss Jewell Thomson, of Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs D. Young, Hedgehope. Miss V. Frew has returned to Makarewa after spending a holiday with Mrs F. Duncome, Eglinton Valley. Mrs L. Thomas, Louisa street, is spending a few days as the guest of Mrs A. Watson, Merivale. Miss Gwen Smith, Tokanui, and Mrs V. Mathieson, Invercargill, are spending a holiday at the Rocks, Riverton. Mrs A. H. Robins, Beatrice street, has returned from a holiday at Timaru and Christchurch.
Mrs A. M. Macdonald, Gala street, has returned from a holiday- in Dunedin.
Mrs G. H. Uttley, the Rectory, Crinan street, has returned from a holiday at Dunedin and Oamaru.
Mrs C. H. Hargest, of Mataura, is on a short visit to Dunedin where she will attend the annual festival of the Mothers’ Union.
Mrs J. V. Kean, Louisa street, was hostess at a pantry afternoon on Saturday in honour of Miss Norma Tobin whose wedding takes place on Saturday.
Mrs Abadee and Miss Sadie Isaacs, who have been the guests of Mrs S. Glover, Tweed street, will leave by the Maunganui on their return to Melbourne.
Mrs S. Glover, Tweed street, was .hostess at a dinner party at her home on Saturday evening in honour of her
niece, Miss Sadie Isaacs, of Melbourne. Among those present were Misses J. Fell, M. Bath, E. Todd, J. Smith, J. Marshal], W. Cochran, D. Gray, R. Tomlins and M. MacLachlan. Miss June Bath was hostess at an informal party on Saturday evening at the home of her grandparents, Mr and Mrs D. W. McKay, Coldstream, Invercargill. Among those present were Misses M. Bath, G. Witt, J. Lee, I. Smith,. N. Fallandas, R. Mac Gibbon, N. Bath, W. Cochrane', E. Carswell, J. Fell; Messrs H. Armour, O. Cowie, J. Ruffin, A. Harris, J. Chewings, I. Wilson, R. Bamford, D. Robinson, H. Bath, E. Murray (Dunedin), W. Bath, D. Berry, C. Carswell, K; Clapp, E. MacDonald, L, Anderson.

Mrs W. H. King and her son, have recently been the guests of Mrs Cook, Avenal road, Invercargill. Miss Ngaire Brown, Christchurch, who has been the guest of Mr and Mrs J. Dagg has returned home. Mrs W. E. Hunt and her two children
have been spending a holiday at the Rocks, Riverton. Miss Lucy Condon, Thornbury, who has been the guest of Mr and Mrs P. Scully, has returned home. Misses Denise and Patricia Ryan, Dunedin, were recently the guests of Mr and Mrs W. Scully. Miss N. Leonard, Invercargill, has been the guest of Mrs W. Scully. Miss Mollie Leonard, Roslyn Bush, is spending a holiday with her aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs D. McLennan, Dacre. Mrs Irwin, Dunedin, is the guest of her sister, Mrs Dennis. Misses Annie and Eileen Scully spent the week-end at Kaiwera. WRIGHTS BUSH Misses D. and A. Ross (Stratford) were the guests of Mrs D. E. Scott. Misses J. and V. Mulholland, Kaitangata, are spending a holiday with Mrs D. Robertson. Mrs J. Jackson and Miss J. Jackson ,are spending a holiday at Riverton.
