GOVERNMENT LOANS FIRM ON INVERCARGILL EXCHANGE

Government loans continued to show a very firm tone on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday, all lines being keenly sought after. Few quotations came for banks, but insurances remained steady. Some improvement took place in the price of Australian industrials. The market for mining stocks was quiet, but firmer. A sale of Bank of New Zealand at £1 18/6, was reported. Quotations were as follows:—
