ANNUAL PICNIC AT OMAUI
SUCCESSFUL OUTING IN - IDEAL WEATHER
About 80 persons travelled by car to Omaui for the annual picnic of the Bluff Railway Social Club. The weather was ideal and the outing was very successful. A programme.of sports was drawn up by the committee, headed by the secretary (Mr J. Parker), and toys and sweets were distributed among the children.
Results of races are as follows:— Tiny tots’ race.—l. Trussler 1, J. Bewley 2. Girls (5 to 7 years).—M. Roughan 1, E. Patterson 2; (8-10 years): W. Paterson 1, V. Roughan 2; (10-12 years): B. Montgomery 1, G. Cran 2. Boys (5-7 years).—E. Jamieson 1, G. Trussler 2; (8-10 years); W. Montgomery 1, E. Patterson 2; (10-12 years): V. Roughan 1, W. Montgomery 2.; Single women.—Miss S. Downes 1. Miss J. Robins 2. ... Married women.—Mrs W. Beaton 1, Mrs C. McDonald 2; (over 40 years): Mrs A. Auld 1, Mrs D. Downes 2. Single men.—A. Wallace 1 R. Robins 2.
Married men.—R. Trussler 1; (over 40 years): D. Downes 1, A. Auld 2. Three-legged race.—Miss J. Robins and R. Robins 1, Miss S. Downes and J. Parker 2.

The Social Club cup for the relay race was won by the shunters’ team, comprising Messrs E. Patterson, J. Roughan, C. McDonald and C. Bewley,
