SUCCESS OF SOUTHLAND STUDENTS Advice has been received from Pitman’s examinations department, Melbourne, that at the annual examinations held in December last, the following pupils of the Southland Shorthand School (Miss A. O. Giller) were suecessful:— 150 words a minute: Miss Lois Mehaffey, Miss Adele Macdonald. 130 words a minute: Miss Marjorie Barlow, Miss Ray Jackson. 120 words a minute:—Miss Hazel Miss Grace Hunter, Miss Joyce "Speirs. 110 words a minute: Miss Iris Blaikie, Miss Gwen Lewis. 100 words a minute: Miss Pat Canty, Miss Molly O’Sullivan, Miss Agnes Smith. 90 words a minute: Miss Dorraine Barnes, Miss Jessie Brown, Miss Maureen Ferry, Miss Juliet Loughnan, Miss Betty Moorhouse, Miss Dorothy Millar, Miss Mary McCalman, Miss Nancy Phillips, Miss Ngare Wilson. 80 words a minute: Miss Nola Fernandez, Miss Joyce Mackay, Miss Daphne Ramsay, Miss Pat Snow, Miss Joan Swale, Miss Doreen Thomson, Miss Molly Thomson. 70 words a minute.—Miss Vailele Agnew, Miss Beulah Beadle, Miss Betty Cameron, Miss Jenny Irwin. Miss Ray Kingsland, Miss June Mackay, Miss Margaret Miller, Miss Alma Mitchell, Miss Bernie Nolan, Miss Ngare Wilson. 60 words a minute: Miss Joan Neyrth, Miss Betty Paterson, Miss Brenda Shepherd, Miss Peggy Spence, Miss Dorothy Swain, Miss Marion Taylor, Miss Mary Thompson, Miss Margaret Ward.
