WOMEN’S CRICKET

HIGH SCHOOL DEFEATED BY MATAURA The Mataura women’s cricket team defeated High School in a match at Mataura by 133 runs to 104. The home team gave a good display of batting, several of the players retiring undefeated. The fielding of the visitors was of a high standard. Batting for High School N. Dixon was in good form and her total of 34 runs was well deserved. B. Baker (18) was the only other player to reach double figures. In compiling 104, High School made its highest score for the season.. Mataura did not make use of its main bowlers until well on in the game, the result being that many wides were bowled. Scores:
