FINE OF £20 FOR BOOKMAKING

(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 28. A fine of £2O. in default one month’s imprisonment, was imposed on Harold Rogers, aged 30, a labourer, by Mr W. F Stilwell. S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court on a bookmaking charge, to which he pleaded guilty. For the accused it was stated that he was. not in a big way and his heart was not in it, for he had given it up long before the detectives called on him.
