TEXT BOOKS OF DEMOCRATIC TEACHINGS (Received November 26, 6.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, November 25. The United States Catholic Hierarchy, under mandate from Pope Pius, has announced an educational programme to preserve democracy and counteract subversive teachings, involving the immediate compilation of a series of graded text books to provide systematic democratic teachings to 3,000,000 Catholic students. The hope is expressed that such teachings will not be confined to Catho--11C A Papal letter last month charged American Catholics to prepare for “what may be a turning point in the world’s history.”
