INVERCARGILL CLUB’S SCORES CUNNINGHAM MEMORIAL CUP The first competition for the Walter Cunningham Memorial Cup was fired at Otatara on Saturday afternoon by the Invercargill Defence Rifle Club. A fresh westerly wind blew during the afternoon but it remained fairly steady and the scoring was up to a good standard. The ranges were 300, 500 and 600 yards, 10 shots at each. At 300 yards J. Archer shot splendidly for 554555555 5—49. A. Pomeroy, A. A. Ford and E. Grieber also did well with 48 each. At 500 yards A. R. Wills with 5 5 4 5 5 5 5 5 5 5—49 counted out W. CITY GUARDS CLUB

The City Guards Defence Rifle Club fired the first stage of the Whitcomb and Caldwell Cup competition at Otatara on Saturday afternoon, 10 shots being fired at 300, 500 and 600 yards. Good conditions prevailed, the .'airly strong wind causing little trouble. At 300 yards the youngest member of the club, J. W. Doake, headed the list with 555555544 5—48 out of the possible 50. D.
