JOHNSTONE—CROSBIE

In the Wyndham Presbyterian Church last Tuesday evening, the marriage was solemnized between Nesta Aileen, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs F. W. J. Crosbie, Weka Bush, Menzies Ferry, and James Charles, youngest son of Mr and Mrs W. H. Johnstone. The church was decorated with spring flowers by friends of the bride, and the Rev. G. D. Falconer performed the ceremony. Miss Marjorie McKay played the organ. I Given away by her faher, the bride 'wore a frock of satin adele in a rich champagne shade. It was cut very simply, with a long full train which was richly appliqued. The bodice, softly swathed had a V neckline, and the long, closely-fitting sleeves had tiny buttons from elbow to wrist. A. tulle veil fell from a pleated halo with a bunch of orange blossom at one side. She carried a sh'eaf of arum lilies. Mrs Walter Smith, as matron of honour, and Miss Thelma Crosbie as bridesmaid, attended their sister. Their frocks of eggshell blue and Nile green georgette respectively, were made alike with Empire bodices, featuring square necklines and very full flared skirts. The full puffed sleeves, and hemline and neck were finished with bands of rucking. Small loops and buttons trimmed the back of the bodices, and wide bows finished the waistline. They wore short tulle veils, and carried bouquets of roses, maidenhair and asparagus fern. The bride’s nephew, Frank Stewart, was page boy, wearing a white satin blouse and black velvet trousers. The flower girl, Alvena Crosbie, wore a salmon pink accordion-pleated frock with puffed sleeves and a pleated collar and finished with pink velvet ribbons. Round her hair she wore tiny rosebuds, and she carried a basket of flowers.

Mr R. McKay was best man, and Mr F. Crosbie, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Messrs L. and C. Crosbie and G. Baird were ushers.

At the reception, which was held in the Masonic Hall, the guests were received by Mrs Crosbie, who wore a navy cloque frock under a sheer coat with a navy straw hat Her shoulder spray was of lemon flowers. She was assisted by Mrs Knight, the bridegroom’s aunt, who wore a navy floral frock under a navy coat, with a shoulder spray of lemon roses. For travelling the bride chose a London tan .frock under a navy pinstriped coat with a navy Breton sailor hat and matching accessories. Mr and Mrs J. C. Johnstone will live at Albury, Canterbury. A dance was held in the Masonic hall after the reception, when Mrs L. Crosbie and Mr J. Crosbie played extras, and Messrs Henderson and J. Crosbie were masters of ceremonies.
