CHOOSING A CAREER
TALKS TO BE BROADCAST FROM 4YZ An important problem which confronts many parents at this time of the year, is the choice of a suitable career for their boys and girls. With the object of assisting parents in their decisions, Station 4YZ has arranged a series of vocational talks by eminent leaders of education, who will deal with the various careers open to children leaving school, and the future possibilities that such positions offer. The series will begin on Monday evening, when Mr J. J. Lynch will speak on “Farming as a career.” Further talks will follow on Tuesday, “The Professions” by Dr G. H. Uttley, ‘rector of the Southland Boys’ High School; December 5, “Careers for Girls” hy Miss A. Eastwood, principal of the Southland Girls’ High School; December 6, “The Trades” by Mr C. A. Stewart, director of the Southland Technical College; December 12, “Commercial and Business Careers for Boys” by Dr Uttley; December 13, “The Trades” by Mr C. A. Stewart. The talks will be broadcast at 9 o’clock each evening
