THE ADVENTURES OF MICHAEL
Says Mike, "I’ve finished gardening—Spring - cleaning’s almost done, And so I think some tennis with Smoki would be fun. So Simon, bring my racquet. . But Simon starts to speak, "Oh, sir, you broke your racquet ' on Celia’s horn, last week!”.
“Yes, so I did,” says Michael. “Well, then we’ll both go boating. My boat has been ashore for months, and badly needs refloating.” And when their lunch is ready, and they’re dressed for the part, Mike gives the oars to Simon, < and for the.lake they start. J
But ah! Mike’s boat is occupied by Cynthia the Swan. She’s made her nest and laid her eggs, which now she sits upon. She glares at Mike and Simon, her feathers all erected, And squawks, “If you get in this boat you both will be ejected!"
“Of course well leave you, Cynthia,” says Michael. “I’ve a hunch You haven’t had your breakfast yet, so please accept our lunch. Don't leave your nest. Well bring you food as oft as you desire it, And I will let you use my boat as long as you require it”
