COUSIN BETTY’S LETTER

My dear Cousins,

This week there are a number of clever Little Southlanders to be congratulated. Four cousins, Albert Moore, Raynor Huffadine, Richard Goodson, and Pat Henderson, have over 750 marks for Mind Sharpeners this year and are entitled to the degree of Master of Mind Sharpeners. That means that these cousins have answered each set of puzzling questions and have made good use of their thinking caps. The one with the largest number of Sharpener marks at the end of the year will be awarded a special prize. Our Hospital Day, which is also our Prize Day, as you know, is almost here, and we must begin to prepare for it. There is a prize for the one with the neatest Marks Book, so send in your books to be judged on Monday, December 5. ■ The Hospital Competitions will all close on that date, too. There is a prize for the best present for a grown-up, the best Christmas stocking, and the best present for a girl or boy patient. Have you made your gifts yet? They must be sent in by Monday, December 5, so do not waste any time, cousins of mine. Clan secretaries, who are always so business-like, must have their lists of clan marks for the year complete and posted to me by December 1, so that I may find out which clan is to be awarded the Silver Cup this year. I wonder who will be the Gold Medallist? This is the highest award that can be given a cousin, and is won by the girl or boy who has> been the best all-round Little Southlander of the year. Do not forget, older cousins, that the closing date for entries for your special page is Monday, November 28. What a lot of announcements and reminders there are this week ! See if you can remember them all. Your loving
