He was born at Bethsaida, but lived and worked at Capernaum, by the Lake of Galilee, where he and his brother, Simon Peter, were fishermen. During the day they would mend their nets for the night’s work. Here they are at work
When Jesus called them to come and be His disciples they went and followed Him. This disciple was the one who found the small boy with the five barley loaves and two fishes which fed the 5000 J>y a miracle
Later, he became a missionary and preached the Gospel in Scythia and Greece, where he was hanged. Later some of his body was taken to Scotland and buried nt a place in Fife which is called after him. Many pilgrims visited there to pray at his tomb
Here is the flag of Scotland which bears his emblem. When Scotland and England became one kingdom in 1606 they had one flag like this. 71ds disciple was also the patron saint of Russia and ills festival is November 30. Near his tomb, in Fife. U a famous golf course
