TWENTY-SIXTH ANNUAL SHOW

Well-Balanced Exhibition Of Stock Expected FARMING ACTIVITIES IN DISTRICT REPRESENTED The Winton Show tomorrow opens the summer show season in Southland and the Winton Agricultural and Pastoral Association can usually be relied on to present a well-balanced exhibition truly representative of the stock-raising industries of the fertile district of which the town is the centre. This year . the association will be holding its show- on the racecourse while its own grounds are undergoing extensive improvements. This will be the first time for a number of years that the show has not been held near the centre of the town, but it is expected that the association will be able to present a show which is. fully representative of the district’s farming activities even though its own grounds are not available. Tomorrow’s show will be the twenty-sixth in the history of the association. A special effort was made last year for the silver jubilee and the show was liberally supported by exhibitors over a wide area and the standard of the exhibition was excellent. Good entries have been received for this year’s show and another success is expected.
