AUXILIARY YACHT ROVER SOLD
VOYAGE FROM AUCKLAND TO WELLINGTON (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 23. The auxiliary E class keel yacht Rover, which was recently purchased by Mr J. Buckland, of Wellington, left for the south shortly before three o’clock this afternoon. The yacht is in charge of Mr D. Wellington, who has with him as his crew Messrs D. Ashton, C. Wilson and A. H. Milbum. Mr Ashton and Mr Wilson are members of the crew of the South African yacht Land’s End and will rejoin the vessel at Auckland on their return from Wellington. The Rover is 26ft overall, with a beam of 9ft 6in and a draught of sft. Her most recent owner was Mr J. B. Ferguson, who sold her to Mr Buckland a few months ago. Mr Wellington, who is in command of the Rover, has had considerable experience in navigating small boats on ocean voyages. He hopes to reach Wellington in about a week’s time.
