SEASON CLOSED INVERCARGILL ' LADIES’ CLUB The official closing of the Invercargill Ladies’ Golf Club for the season took place yesterday. A four-ball bogey handicap was played in the morning under ideal conditions, the course being in splendid order. Mrs O. G. Gilmour and Mrs W. Bews tied with Mrs F. G. Hall-Jones and Miss M. McCallum with 3 up, Mrs Gilmour and Mrs Bews winning on the count back. During the afternoon driving, approaching and putting, and putting competitions were held after which the president, Mrs C. C. Anderson, presented the prizes and congratulated the winners. She thanked the donors of trophies and all those who helped to make the season a successful one. In the final for the Handyside Cup Mrs O. G. Gilmour defeated Miss D. McCallum 2 and 1. Mrs Gilmour held the advantage throughout in a very close game, her putting being very sound.
