BROMWICH BEATS QUIST AT SYDNEY (Received November 24, 11.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 24. At a tennis tournament between New South Wales and Victoria which opened today J. Bromwich beat his Davis Cup team mate. A. K. Quist, 8-6, 6-1. J. H. Crawford beat H. O. Hopman 9-7, 7-5, and a Victorian, Jack Harper, caused surprise by defeating the Sydney player J. Gilchrist, 6-4, 7-5.
