On Thursday night, December Ist, “Rope,” the Repertory' Society’s last production for the year begins its three night season at the Victoria Hall. The play was produced in London a few years ago. It enjoyed considerable success and had a long run. It is a curious play, dealing with two neurotic young men who have a theory of murder as a fine art. They strangle a perfectly harm-, less friend purely for the excitement of the thing. They then give a supper party with the body hidden in the room. The atmosphere of tension is the theme of the play; the young men’s nerves slowly breaking as they realize successive flaws in their “perfect” crime. As it may be seen, “Rope” is not everybody’s play—it is strong meat. But those who like a dramatic thriller, brilliantly .handled, should not miss it.—Advt,
