FUNERAL OF GUNNER

VICTIM OF TAIHAPE TRAGEDY (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 23. Tile funeral of one of the Auckland victims of the Taihape bridge tragedy. Gunner Maurice Moore, of Papatoetoe, was conducted with full military honours at the Papatoetoe cemetery. A detachment and firing party from the Royal New Zealand Artillery, comprising 35 officers and other ranks, attended. The party was under the command of Major Nurse, of the Australian Staff Corps, officer-commanding at North Head.

On its way to Papatoetoe the cortege passed the Papatoetoe District School, where Gunner Moore was educated and the school children lined the roadside in token of respect.
