SHORTAGE OF SUGAR IN CITY

SHIPMENT ARRIVES BY WAIANA Approximately 200 tons of sugar were brought to Bluff by the Waiana, which arrived yesterday afternoon from Dunedin, almost a fortnight behind its schedule. The delay was caused by the recent waterside hold-up in Auckland. The shipment should reach Invercargill firms almost immediately and will assist in relieving the shortage in the city. The Waiana will be in port until tomorrow, when she will sail for Wellington direct. She is due at Bluff again from Dunedin on December 8.
