For the first time in medical history, a woman, aged 17, who was suffering from Infantile paralysis gave birth last Wednesday to a baby girl inside a respirator, the so-called “iron lung.” at an isolation hospital. The physicians reported that the mother was doing well and the child had a fair chance of surviving, but a later message stated that the baby had died.
