GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE PROMISED (United Press Association) . WELLINGTON, October 27. Reporting to the second annual meeting of shareholders of the New Zealand Exhibition Company, Mr Charles Todd, the vice-chairman, said the amount to date was £97,000. He added it was hoped to have £150,000 in addition to the Government subsidy of £50,000 and the Government loan of £25,000. Mr Todd read a letter from the Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) stating that the Government would make some additional financial provision to assist the company in the early stages and that the form it would take would be advised later.
