NEW ARMY PURGE IN RUSSIA
ARRESTS IN VOLGA AREA MOSCOW, October 24. Indications of a new army purge were given when M. Cheremin, military chief of police in the Volga area, was arrested, in addition to a high staff officer and others connected with the army of the Far East. , The arrested men were alleged to have aided spies and held anti-Govem-ment meetings.
