MEN CHARGED UNDER GAMING ACT

FINES TOTALLING £145 IMPOSED (United Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, October 25. Fines totalling £145 were imposed by Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court as the result of a raid by the police yesterday on certain premises, the informations being laid under the Gaming Act. John Bruce Clark, aged 29, and H. Harry McDonald Essex, aged 47, commission agent, were each fined £45, Davis Lanchoto Giorgi, aged 45, a hairdresser, £3O, Patrick Arthur Molloy, aged 28, a hairdresser, £l5, and Kenneth Aiton Holmes, aged 25, a cleaner, £lO. All were charged with using premises as a common gaming house.
