MAUDE ADAMS TO APPEAR IN PICTURES

David O. Selznick has signed Maude Adams, world-famous stage actress, to a contract and will star her in a series of motion pictures, the first of which will be produced shortly. Miss Adams, who will be 66 years old on November 11, has never appeared in pictures despite several tempting offers. However, she has long been interested

in motion pictures from the technical end. For years she has experimented with cameras, film lighting and dimensional film. Except for brief reappearances on the stage in 1931 and 1934, she has lived in virtual retirement for the last twenty years. “I feel it is a great honour to reintroduce Miss Adams to the millions who knew and loved her on the stage,” Selznick said, “and a privilege to introduce her for the first time to the millions of a new generation.”
