WESTMINSTER TOMB TO BE OPENED
DAUGHTER OF HENRY HI (Received October 24, 11.30 pun.) LONDON, October 24. The Daily Mail reveals that arrangements are being made for the opening of the 700-year-old tomb, in Westminster Abbey, of King Henry Ill’s daughter, Princess Katherine, aged 5, who according to.historians “was dumb, fit for nothing but possessing great beauty.” The tomb is believed to be the most perfect specimen of thirteenth century mosaic. A scheme has been evolved to move it without damage. The investigators hope to find that the tomb contains the remains of King Henry’s son Richard, also King Edward I’s two children, John Henry Alfonso and Eleanor.
It is also believed that the tomb may solve the mystery of the golden cup containing the heart of the murdered prince, Henry Fitzßichard.
