MARKET FOR DAIRY PRODUCE
LITTLE PROSPECT OF BIG RISE IN PRICES (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 7. Mr W. lorns, a former chairman of the Dairy Board, who returned by the Mataroa, said there was not much prospect of any considerable rise in dairy prices. The carry-over in supplies from last season was fairly heavy and the competition of margarine wa. an important factor. When dairy prices had temporarily touched a high peak last spring the consumption of margarine had increased by 500 tons a week. The quality of New Zealand cheese was better than it had ever been and merchants were very pleased with the improvement made by New Zealand.
