CRICKETER STRUCK BY BALL
EYE BADLY BRUISED The Southland and Eastern Southland wicket-keeper, D. M. Dunnet, was admitted to the Gore Hospital suffering from injuries to his right eye and nose. Dunnet was instructing some junior players of the Celtic Cricket Club, of which he is a member, when he was struck in the eye by a ball. It is understood that his eye is badly bruised, but it is not yet known whether the sight will be affected. The extent of the injuries to his nose is not yet known. COLLISION BETWEEN TWO CARS ACCIDENT ON NORTH ROAD A head-on collision between two motor-cars occurred on the North road, about half a mile on the Invercargill side of Cooper’s Corner, at 6.20 o’clock last night The drivers of the cars were John Crowe, of West Plains, and James McFadzien, of Forest Hill. Molly McFadzien and a small boy, who were passengers in the car driven by James McFadzien, were injured and were taken to the Southland Hospital by the ambulance. The child was discharged, but Miss McFadzien was admitted suffering from injuries to the forehead and knee and shock. Her condition is reported to be satisfactory. Both vehicles were badly damaged.
