DEATH OF INVENTOR OF GAS MEASURE

(Received September 9, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, September 8. The death has occurred of Mr Charles Carpenter, the inventor of the “Therm” gas measure.

Mr Charles Claude Carpenter, who was bom in 1858, was a director of the South Metropolitan Gas Company and was a member of the Chemical Warfare Committee, Ministry of Munitions, during the Great War.
