SOUTHLAND ROADS AND SMALL CARS

To The Editor

Sir, —The ideas conveyed to you by a visitor in regard to the roads in our Western District are entirely misleading and contrary to fact. As the owner of a small car, I can state definitely that our gravel roads are more suitable for small cars than for large high-powered cars. I had a large car before I. purchased the small one, so I know what I am talking about. My experience can be confirmed by the many users of small cars of all makes. The percentage of broken windshields in large cars is greater than in small cars. The remarks of your visitor are too ludicrous to be worth printing in any paper.—Yours, etc., SMALL CAR OWNER. September 9,1938.
