NEW FREEZING WORKS

To The Editor

Sir, —As an uninterested person I would remind those farmers who are agitating for another freezing works that the present is an inopportune time for starting it. They should realize that the costs are prohibitive. It is only those who disregard the waste of money that would consider buildings at the present time, such as the State whose houses and public works because of abnormal conditions are costing 20 per cent, more than formerly they would have done. For the same reason a new freezing works would cost 20

per cent, more than when the present works were erected, and the farmers should know that it will be they who will directly or indirectly pay for such extra costs. —Yours, etc., UNINTERESTED. June 23, 1938.
