AUSTRALIA OUT FOR 303

HASSETT FAILS TO ADD TO SCORE LANCASHIRE TWO WICKETS FOR 29 RUNS (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received June 21, 12,45 a.m.) LONDON, June 20. Australia was all out for 303 runs in its first innings against Lancashire. The county had lost two wickets for 29 runs at the lunch adjournment. The weather was cool and dull when W. E. Phillipson reopened the attack at a fine pace. He got B. A. Barnett in his third over. There had been no rain since Saturday and the wicket was still good. M. G. Waite was shaky against both Phillipson and A. Nutter, and A. L. Hassett was in half an hour today without scoring; finally he was clean bowled by a vicious off-break without adding to his score. His innings of 118 took four hours and included 13 fours. Waite was out in L. L. Wilkinson’s first over, to a ball turning slightly from leg. E. C. S. White hung on with remarkable solidity against excellent bowling. L. O’B. Fleetwood-Smith was unable to bat because of a dental operation during the week-end. E. L. McCormick never looked capable of staying, and the innings ended after 325 minutes’ play at 12.40 p.m. Scores:
