Arrivals by the Awatea from Sydney today included Sir Theophilus Metcalfe and Lady Metcalfe, who are on a visit to the latter’s parents, Mr and Mrs W. M. Wright, Hataitai, who will celebrate their golden wedding in August, Archbishop O’Shea, who has been on a private visit to Sydney, Miss K. Gunji, wife of the Japanese Consul-General in the Dominion, and their three children from Japan, Professor A. F. Plumtre, of Toronto University, who is on a private visit to study banking methods, M. Alexander Kipnis, the famous Russian basso, Mrs Kipnis and her son, the Rev. A. Wylie-Blue, of Belfast, a Presbyterian preacher who is on a week’s visit to the Dominion; and the Australian badminton touring team.
