PINE BUSH HUNT CLUB
ANNUAL BALL HELD BIG NUMBER OF DANCERS PRESENT The Mataura Island Hall was the scene of much festivity on Tuesday evening, when the Pine Bush Hunt Club held its annual ball. There was a big attendance of dancers and friends from all over Southland, but a capable committee headed by Mr A. H. Holms, president, and Mr A. Oliver, secretary, had made efficient arrangements, and the function was most successful. The hall was gaily decorated with Chinese lanterns and red and green streamers, and a buffet supper was served in a big marquee. The Gaiety dance band supplied the music and Miss I. Drysdale played extras. Mr H. S. Hands was master of ceremonies. Mr A. H. Holms, president of the Pine Bush Hunt Club, asked Mr J. L. Hazlett to present the trophies. He also thanked the guests for their patronage, and the donors of the trophies. Before presenting the trophies won during the day, Mr Hazlett, president of the Birchwood Hunt Club, thanked the Pine Bush branch of the club for upholding the sport so worthily in that part of Southland.
