INTERPRETATION OF DR FUNK’S » SPEECH
BREMEN, June 16.
The speech of Dr Walther Funk, German Minister of National Economy, in which he declared that “Germany cannot tolerate the position of her foreign loans,” and added “Nazi Germany has never regarded the Dawes and Young loans as private loans,” is regarded as a formal and official repudiation of the Austrian debts, __ of which £8,000,000 is owing to British investors. British investors also hold £16,500,000 of the 7 per cent. Dawes loan and £11,000,000 of the 5J per cent. Young loan.
