BERGHAN IS THE FIND OF SEASON

T. Berghan, the Otago University player, who by his play in the interisland match last Saturday is being hailed by northern writers as the “find” of the season, first gained prominence at Auckland University. It was in the Otago-Southland match at Invercargill last year, however, that he made the name which was to gain him consideration for South Island honours. Berghan was one of those footballers who won his way to the top class of inter-provincial football at a time when another and more-established player was keeping him from getting a place in the Otago representative team. D. Trevathan, the Otago five-eighth, is the player referred to.
