MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB At the weekly shoot of the Tuatapere Miniature Rifle Club the women’s handicap and rifle button were won by Mrs G. Gorton. J. J. Wall, 67; G. Cleveland, 67; Mrs M. Gorton, 64; A. Davies, 42. LABOUR PARTY The Waiau branch of the New Zealand Labour Party held a social evening in honour of Mr J. J. Lynch, the Labour candidate for Wallace at the forthcoming General Election. Mr R. McCracken, president of the Waiau branch, introduced Mr Lynch to the meeting. Mr Lynch was enthusiastically re-
ceived by a big attendance of about 100 members and supporters, . including visitors from Orepuki, Orawia, Nightcaps, Otautau, and Hollyford. Mr Lynch was attentively listened to and vigorously applauded. A short toast-list was honoured and songs and recitations were given by various members.
