LIABILITY DENIED BY COUNTY

PAYMENTS CLAIMED BY CITY COUNCIL

I have submitted the account to the board with the request for. prompt payment for the service which this council is giving,” stated the town clerk.

Another report stated: “In a letter dated April 11, the county clerk (Mr H. C. Gimblett) advises that his council agrees to pay an invoice for £ll 19/5 for half the cost of the maintenance of the Stead street bridge, but declines to recognize any liability for an account for £34 15/- for half the cost of the maintenance of Stead street. There is now more than £2OO owing by the county for maintenance work on Stead street.”
