THE SPINNING TOP
First get a piece of wood about Bin long, Jin thick, and about Ilin, wide. Bore a hole in one end.. Smooth off the other for a handle., Make a small hole from side to the big hole to thread string. Cut a cotton reel in half, taper off cut edge. Make a stem 2in long to
fit in hole in reel, rounding off one end to spin on. Take a piece of string and wind one end evenly round stem, thread other end through small hole, from inside of large hole. Insert top in hole, and pull the threaded end of string, and the top will fly out and spin for quite a long time.
