OATMEAL FOR BEAUTY
Buy a pound of the very fine grade oatmeal, and you will find you have no need of creams or lotions to keep your hands fit. Place two tablespoonfuls of the oatmeal in a basin and add a little water to it (mix it like you would flour in making paste), be careful that there are no lumps, then gradually add more water until you have used half a pint, and your lotion will be ready for use. Transfer it to a bottle, and bathe your hands (don’t forget the wrists) twice a day. It will keep the skin nice and soft If the skin on the face is tender, oatmeal can be used instead of soap when washing it. You must make a paste with oatmeal and water. Prepare it just in the same way as the lotion, but use only a little water, just sufficient to make a thin paste, dip your sponge or washing glove into the paste, and then rub it well over the face; you will find it can take the place of soap (unless the skin is very soiled), and it makes the skin like velvet.
