At present exhibited in the window of Mr A. W. Moore’s Royal Cycle Works, Dee Street, is a bicycle which is attracting considerable attention, and is well worthy of inspection. Built to order, in his own workshop, for Mr J. Huffadine, of 474 Herbert Street, who contemplates making an extended cycle tour of New Zealand, this machine carries equipment unusual to the ordinary cycle. The machine, a Royal Special, is built of specially heavy steel tubing, with reinforced frame and front forks, which will be necessary to support the weight of equipment Mr Huffadine intends taking with him. The machine is black, enamelled green and gold lined, Chromium-plated fittings, comprising specially designed steel carriers, three-speed Sturmey Archer gear, with hand operated brake, also front Sturmey Archer-hub with hand operated brake, splashered dropside mudguards, extra heavy cranks and large pedals, Renold chain, specially sprung saddle, Bosch electric generator set, with tail light combined, speedometer, Palmer special tyres and tubes, complete with rear fairylite reflector, pump, tool bag, tools, and bell, and provides all that is required for a machine of this class. Exhibited also are the canvas bags, ruc-sacs, etc., which fit inside the carriers to carry the necessary equipment and keep it dry during wet weather. Mr Huffadine intends leaving Invercargill on the first stage of his journey in a week’s time.—Advt, ;
