AWARDS OF FULTON BEQUEST
SPECIAL PRIZE GIVEN TO MR P. J. ALLEY (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, February 24. Awards of the Fulton bequest for the best papers presented by any member in one year were announced at the evening sessions of the conference of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers by Mr F. W. Furkert, on behalf of the trustees, as follows:— Gold Medal.—F. H. Collins, 8.E., of Wellington, for a paper on “Designed Workable Concrete.” Special Award.—P. J. Alley, 8.E., of Invercargill, for a paper on “Soil Mechanics of Southland.” Silver Medal for Best Paper by Student.—E. H. Caraw, of Napier, for a paper on “Oxygen Cutting of Metals.”
