LORD GALWAY IN VICTORIA
VISIT AS GUEST OF STATE GOVERNOR MELBOURNE, February 17. The Governor-General of New Zealand (Viscount Galway), who is at present visitihg Victoria as the guest of the Governor (Lord Huntingfield) was the guest of the Lord Mayor (Mr Campbell) at the quarterly luncheon of the Melbourne City Council on Friday, when he was warmly welcomed by the Premier (Mr A. A. Dunstan), who said he hoped many Australians would visit the New Zealand centenary in 1940. Lord Galway spent the week-end as the guest of Sir Alan Currie, M.LC., at his famous country home at Burrumbeet On Monday he was the guest of the State Electricity Commission at Yallourn and inspected the huge state electricity scheme which produces a large proportion of the State’s supply from a steam generating plant operated by brown coal from adjacent mines. Yesterday, with Lord Huntingfield, Lord Galway attended a luncheon of the United Grand Lodge of Freemasons and last night he was the guest of honour at a dinner at the Melbourne Club,
