MEN BETTER DRIVERS THAN WOMEN
RESULTS OF AMERICAN TESTS The American Automobile Association has announced that a survey of 10,000 persons in 35 American cities proved clearly that men are better drivers than women. The average wheel grip of men measured 1141 b against 631 b for women. Men could withstand 58 units of light whereas women could withstand only 55.1 units, and men recovered in 5.55 seconds from glare, against 7.47 seconds for women. Other tests indicated that men generally have quicker reactions and better hearing and better concentration when at the wheel than women. Women drive more slowly, however, distinguish colours better, and have better vision from the corner of the eye. They also have an advantage in blood pressure; chat of men is higher.
