WINTON
ADDRESS BY MR HOLYOAKE Mr K. J. Holyoake, M.P. for Motueka, addressed a meeting of about 250 persons in the Theatre Royal at Winton last evening. The Mayor (Mr T. Walker) presided and in introducing Mr Holyoake said that he came with a great reputation as a public speaker. Mr Holyoake dealt with the current political situation, and outlined the salient features of the Government’s legislation and the policy of the National Party. During the meeting interjections were fairly numerous, mainly from the one person. At the conclusion of the meeting Mr . Holyoake particularly thanked the interjecter for his assistance.
A vote of thanks to Mr Holyoake was moved by Mr T. S. Smith and canied by acclamation.
