RABBIT BOARD RATES

To The Editor Sir, —It has come to my notice that in the agitation against the forming of a rabbit board at Woodlands, it has been stated that the two rabbit boards in the Western District were considering raising their rate to sixpence an acre, owing to increased labour costs. Now, sir, I wish to state that I have been a trustee of the Lochiel Rabbit Board for the past ten years and at no time has the rate been more than 2]d an acre, while at the present time the rate is 2Jd. an acre. Notwithstanding the increased labour costs, the board has no need to increase the present rate.—Yours, etc., JAMES ROBB, Chairman, Lochiel Rabbit Board. January 14, 1938.
