A very fine consignment of Hereford cattle was recently shipped to Fiji on behalf of the Colonial Sugar Company through the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited and consisted of four three-year-old horned bulls from the herd of the Estate of the late James McKenzie, of Masterton; four two-year-old horned bulls bred by Mr J. M. James, of Masterton, and three two-year-old horned and one polled bull from Miss B. Donald, of Featherston. These animals were all splendid types of Hereford cattle, well marked and of rich red colour Advice has just been received from the islands that the cattle arrived in excellent condition and it is anticipated that the bulls recently forwarded will considerably improve the stock there.
