THE POPE ACCUSED OF FOSTERING HATREDS
NAZI RETORT TO CRITICISM OF POLICY (Received December 27, 7.50 p.m.) BERLIN, December 26. An official news agency accuses the Pope of fostering hatreds and making unfounded statements. The Pope vigorously attacked the German Government’s church policy when he received cardinals last Friday. He said there was real and actual religious persecution in Germany despite efforts to present a contrary impression.
