AWATEA BREAKS OWN RECORD
TRIP FROM SYDNEY HEADS TO WELLINGTON (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 27. The Awatea cleared Sydney Heads at 8.45 p.m. on Friday, and entered Wellington Heads at 6.41 o’clock this morning, lowering her previous record by an hour to two days, seven hours, 47 minutes, and averaging 22.19 knots. The master (Captain A. H. Davey), said the record was “merely incidental,’* the object being to berth at 7.45 and give everyone a full day ashore.
