CENTAURUS DUE ON MONDAY

FLYING-BOAT TO VISIT DUNEDIN (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 22. The Imperial Airways flying-boat Centaurus will arrive in Auckland next Monday and continue its journey to Wellington on December 31, arriving probably at 10.30 a.m. on the Friday. Saturday and Sunday will be spent in Wellington and on Monday the Centuarus will take off for Lyttelton, arriving there in the morning. The day will be spent there and the flight will be continued to Dunedin on January 4, and the following day the return flight will be begun,- probably direct to Auckland. Arrangements for the reception at Wellington include broadcasting.

This advice has been received by the Union Steam Ship Company and Union Airways, Ltd., which are acting for Imperial Airways.

SECOND SURVEY FLIGHT OF SIKORSKY CLIPPER ADVICE AWAITED IN AUCKLAND (Special to The Times) AUCKLAND, December 22. Advice of the schedule for the second survey flight of the south Pacific by the Pan-American Airways .long range Sikorsky Clipper is awaited by officials of the company in Auckland. The machine returned to Honolulu from Manila early this month to be prepared for the flight and it was hoped originally that she would reach Auckland by December 19, but these plans were changed and the new arrangements have not yet been announced. All the preparations to receive the Clipper at Auckland are complete. The base in Mechanics Bay is ready, although the building is not yet finished. Radio sets have been installed and supplies of special fuel have arrived. Tests of the equipment installed at the Russell radio station were completed this week and the operators have since been busy completing the installation at the Auckland station.

With the Empire flying-boat due at Auckland from Sydney on Monday afternon hopes are high that her visit will coincide with the second trip of the Clipper. The American company has offered the use of its moorings for the Imperial Airways machine which will be the centre of attraction for the holiday crowds.
